I was recently honored to give a talk at the prestigious TEDx in Shanghai. I was telling my own lines story and its outcomes, Including my App Startup- Help+. My Doctors gave up on me, Giving me the three big No's:
1. I will never go to University
2. I will never work
3. I will never get married.
I've done all 3. (In partnership)
This is a story about standing up to a system that sometimes forgets that Its entire goal is to make people healthier. the patient is the center because the system soul is built around him and working together with him to improve health and prevent illness.
It's funny to be called a Patient advocate; it's like advocating for food in a restaurant. The patient is the reason the system exists in the first place.
My goal is to make healthcare accessible to anyone, anywhere, to save lives and to promote health, improving the relationships between patins and doctors everywhere.
I dedicate this talk to all of those with an undiagnosed debilitating condition, to my fellow POTS syndrome sufferers, and to the extraordinary Doctors and Nurses out there that have dedicated their lives to help others. May this talk will help someone in need.
